"The Ashland Food Cooperative (The Co-op) celebrates bringing healthy, organic food and non-food products to the community. What began in 1972 as a buying club with no storefront, has undergone a number of improvement changes over the years, and is now an expanded store with more shopping space, more products, an expanded full service deli, a juice bar, a huge produce department and an enlarged meat and seafood department. There is also a large area where customers can sit and eat, an information counter, and a community room for special events like the culinary and wellness programs and classes offered by the Co-op under the name The Community Oven.
