Dementia/Alzheimer's support group starts meeting Monday

ASHLAND — Several Ashland residents are starting an early stage dementia/Alzheimer's support group

designed to help those with family members afflicted with the conditions to "meet others in similar situations and share strategies for living with memory loss," according to a news release.

The group plans to kick off the effort from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, in the Jefferson and Bear Creek rooms in the Mountain Meadow Club House, 857 Mountain Meadows Drive.

Group facilitators said they want caregivers and those diagnosed with the conditions to have a strong support network with resources.

To provide confidentiality, the caregiver and diagnosed groups will meet in separate rooms during meetings.
