What better way to spend the evening than enjoying the ballet in a beautiful open park. Every summer since 1985, visitors and locals have enjoyed free ballet performances at the "bandstand" in Lithia Park. Surviving on grants and fundraisers, the performances have continued and have become a rich part of Ashland's unique culture. The free ballet performances are performed by the Ballet Rogue, a company of professional ballet dancers who also perform at the Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater in Medford. Their mission is "To promote the art of classical ballet by presenting professional ballet performances in Southern Oregon." - Ballet Rogue

Dancers include Ballet Rogue members, from apprentices of 10 years old to senior dancers, as well as guest artist Rebecca Butler, formerly with the Eugene Ballet.

Ballet in the Park also offers Little Ballerina Classes. This year's classes will be taught by Junior Company member and soloist Kayla Garrett at 9:30 the morning of the performances at the Butler Band Shell. These classes are free and open to children ages 5-9.

Shows start at 7:30 PM, with a pre show lecture beginning at 6:30 PM. There is bench seating and lots of lawn space.
