Jackson Wellsprings
“Native Americans regarded the warm springs on the shores of Bear Creek as a sacred ceremonial and birthing site. Elders share the tradition that even warring Nations put down their weapons in the proximity of the hot springs.
In 1862, Engenia Jackson applied for water rights for the warm water artesian springs for “sanitarium and natatorium (swimming) purposes”. Since the turn of the 20th Century, thousands have come each year to “partake in the waters’ at Jackson Hot Springs.
Currently under the stewardship of WellSprings LLC, the thirty-acre warm springs development was purchased in 1995 for the express purposes of environmental protection and of converting the property into a center for natural healing and education. Dedicated to fulfilling Engenia Jackson’s dream.” – Jackson WellSprings
