SOU Theater
1250 Siskiyou Blvd.
Ashland, OR 97520
This is the local university’s contribution to the theatre of Ashland. Found about one mile from the Stratford Inn on the SOU campus, students and future stars learn their art while school is in session.
Each year, students from Southern Oregon University unite to put together a great year of theatre on the SOU campus. Here, students and future stars perfect their talents while completing their education. Some of the previous shows done at SOU include: Cabaret, The Laramie Project, The Crucible, and Angels in America Part One: Millennium Approaches.
The Department of Theatre Arts at Southern Oregon University is committed to providing a superior training program for undergraduates. Through a balance of classroom instruction and hands-on stage experience, students gain the theatrical skills necessary to succeed in graduate schools and professional workplaces.
Theatre arts majors participate in an intensive program that produces two or more stage productions each academic quarter. The students assume responsible roles in the areas of performance, scenery, costumes, lighting, sound and management. As a result, SOU theatre arts students develop skills, gain resume credits and develop impressive portfolios.
